The Temple women's tennis season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday as ninth-ranked Duke defeated the Owls, 4-0, at Ambler Stadium. The host Blue Devils advance to face 24th-ranked William & Mary, a 4-0 winner over North Carolina State.
Participating in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003, the Temple woman's tennis team will have a challenge on their hands when they travel to Durham, N.C. to take on seventh-ranked Duke at the University's Ambler Tennis Stadium tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. The young Owls, champions of the Atlantic 10, will play an experienced Blue Devils' (18-4) squad that is appearing in the its 19th straight tournament after finishing second in the ACC. Junior Dina Senkina was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year and first year mentor Jill Breslin was honored as the A-10 Coach of the Year. The 2008 champion Owls garnered the lion's share of the honors as the league announced its all-conference teams. Read More >
