Lauren Nicholson Position: Graduate Assistant Coach Experience: 1st Season Alma Mater: University of Maryland - Baltimore County '06

Lauren Nicholson, a 2006 graduate of the University of Maryland - Baltimore County (UMBC), is in her first season as the graduate assistant coach with Temple softball.

Nicholson, a four-year hurler at UMBC, concluded her Retriever career as the school's all-time leader in wins (57), saves (5), innings pitched (620.2), games started (94), complete games (68) and appearances (116). She also finished second all-time in career strikeouts (387). In 2003, Nicholson received second team all-Northeast Conference honors and second team all-NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region.

In 2006, Nicholson, a three-time Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week, broke the school's single-season wins record in posting 19.

In addition to her accomplishments on the diamond, Nicholson has also made an impact in the classroom and community. As a National College Athletic Honor Society Member and two-time America East Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, the Audubon, N.J. native has also participated in UMBC's community outreach mentoring and choice tutoring programs.
