PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University field hockey team has received a 2007 ZAG/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award and had 11 members named to the National Academic Squad by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

The team award is presented to field hockey teams with a team GPA over a 3.0 in the fall semester and is the third consecutive team award for the Owls. The Owls 2007 fall GPA of 3.24 is the highest in the three years under head coach Amanda Janney.

The 11 players honored by the NFHCA are junior Jamie Adams, senior Ashley Bird, junior Nadia Clendening, freshmen Alison Kelly, junior Mary Catherine Kinneman, freshmen Taryn Nichols, freshmen Meredith Pomeroy, senior Leanne Vogelsong, junior Liz Watto, freshmen Kylee Yetter, sophomore Charise Young. All 11 student-athletes achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2007-08 academic year. Six of the 11 student athletes had a GPA over 3.75.
