Field Hockey Adds Transfer Hanshue To 2008 Roster

PHILADELPHIA- Kimmi Hanshue, formerly a midfielder for the West Chester University field hockey team, will transfer to Temple and be eligible for competition this spring, as announced by Temple Head Coach Amanda Janney. Hanshue's sister Erin, has been Temple's starting goalkeeper for the past three seasons.

A reserve for the Rams, Hanshue is coming off a season where she scored one goal and dished two assists. Appearing in 17 of 18 contests, she started in six.

A 2006 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hanshue was an All-State and Mid-Penn League selection as a senior. She helped her squad to the Pennsylvania state quarter-finals as well as a District 3 second runner-up spot, with an impressive 25-2-1 record. A Second Team Patriot News Big 11 honoree, Hanshue started in every game and led her team in assists with 12. As a junior, she was voted First Team All Mid-Penn, All-State honorable mention and a Patriot News Big 11 honorable mention in leading Lower Dauphin to the state quarter-finals.

Hanshue was also an accomplished indoor player, captaining the Barracudas Club team to the 2006 USFHA National Indoor Tournament title.

Temple had one of its best seasons ever in 2007, winning its first-ever Atlantic 10 regular season title and compiling a 15-5 overall record.
