PHILADELPHIA - After averaging 21.6 ppg and 7.8 rpg in four games, senior captain Kamesha Hairston has been selected as the Owlsports.com Athlete of the Month for November. Hairston shot an impressive 50 percent from the field and added 10 steals and nine assists.
A Preseason All-Atlantic 10 selection, Hairston led Temple in scoring in all five games, with a season-best 30 points coming at Virginia on November 29. The Toledo, Ohio native scored 22 points in the first half and added 12 rebounds and four assists to lead the Owls. In the home opener, Hairston led Temple to a win over ACC opponent Georgia Tech with 23 points, including 17 in the second half, six rebounds and four assists. She followed that up with a 22 point performance at Bowling Green to become the 15th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau.
Hairston is currently ranked ninth in the country in scoring and first in the Atlantic 10. She is second in rebounding and first in defensive rebounds.
