PHILADELPHIA, PA - Duquesne came out on top against the Temple men's tennis team on Friday. The Dukes won the doubles point and won four singles matches to win the match, 5-2. The Owls got wins from freshman Lawrence Carpio and senior Zach Tobias. Tobias and sophomore Pavlos Stephanides made their doubles opponents work for their 8-5 win, while juniors Eduardo Saavedra and Ricardo Velazquez took their opponents down to the wire, losing 9-8. Lone winners Carpio and Tobias won their matches 6-2, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-4, respectively. The Owls record is now 4-10 and will travel up Broad Street to face La Salle.
