2008 Cherry & White Roster in PDF Format

Temple University football has announced its roster for the annual Cherry & White intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, April 19, at 1:15 p.m. at the Ambler (Pa.) Sports Complex.

The Cherry squad, under the direction of Mark D'Onofrio, features QB Vaughn Charlton, OL Derek Dennis, WR Dy'Onne Crudup, TB Joe Jones, WR Marquise Liverpool, and TE Steve Maneri on offense. Defensively DB Anthony Ferla, DB Dominique Harris, LB Lamar McPherson, DT Andre Neblett, and DB Daryl Robinson will wear cherry.

The White squad, under the guidance of Matt Rhule, features QB Adam DiMichele and Chester Stewart, TE Matt Balasavage, C Alex Derenthal, WR Bruce Francis, WR Delano Green, and TB Jared Williams on offense. Defensively DE Junior Galette, DB Jaiquawn Jarrett, LB Amara Kamara, DB Jamal Schulters, and DB Richard Sheppard will suit up in white.

Additionally, following each day of spring practice, the coaching staff will reward a "Player of the Day" for the offense, defense, and special teams. Last week's honorees are listed below.

In the midst of spring practice drills, Temple has scheduled 15 practice sessions over 34 consecutive calendar days, utilizing a Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule.

Under the guidance of third-year head coach Al Golden, this season's squad returns everyone from last year except for one starter. In 2007, Temple fielded the nation's youngest team, playing 25 freshmen, including 20 true freshmen, and starting the nation's most freshmen (12). For the third consecutive year, Temple also signed the top-rated recruiting class in the MAC according to Scout.com.

Temple will open the 2008 season at Army on Friday, August 29. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. before a national television audience on ESPNU or ESPN Classic. The Owls host Connecticut on Sept. 6 at Lincoln Financial Field in their home opener.
