 Signing Day Media Conference

Printable Signing Day Book

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University Football Program, under the leadership of second-year head coach Al Golden, today announced that 29 student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent. The group is comprised of 21 high school, four prep school and four junior college entries. Seven of Temple's signees are already enrolled as mid-year students.

The recruiting class is rated as the best in the Mid-American Conference by Scout.com. Fifteen of the signees are rated by Superprep and/or Prep Star, two of the nation's most respected recruiting services.

Geographically, the states best represented in the Owls' class are Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with seven student-athletes listing their hometown in the Keystone State and seven hailing from the Garden State. Four signees are from Florida, two each hail from the states of Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Virginia and California, and one is from Georgia.

The Owls begin spring practice on Monday, March 26 in preparation for their inaugural MAC season in 2007. This upcoming season's squad has only two scholarship seniors on the roster, which means virtually the entire team will return intact in 2008. In 2006, Temple played 22 true freshmen, the most in the country. The Owls also squared-off against eight bowl teams last year, the third most in the nation behind Florida (10) and Stanford (9), while competing against nine squads that were bowl eligible.
