Starred in football fro 1926 to 1929 under Heinie Miller; competed in baseball from 1927 to 1930 under Walter Keating; in basketball from 1928 to 1930 under Jimmy Usilton, Sr., and in soccer during the 1926 season under Jim Neeley. Winner of 11 letters, four each in football and baseball, two in basketball and one in soccer. Captain of football and basketball teams in 1929-30. Set record by completing 28 of 32 passes in one game which stood for 40 years. Hit over .350 as centerfielder for baseball team.
