Captain of Temple's 1934 football team that played in the first Sugar Bowl Game on January 1, 1935 at New Orleans, LA. Served the University as both an athlete and coach. Began his football career at Temple as a fullback and was selected the Owls' best player in 1933. Switched to center as a senior by famed coach Pop Warner, also a Temple Hall of Fame member, he played the entire 60 minutes in Sugar Bowl Game with Tulane and was outstanding. Head coach of Temple football team from 1956 to 1959. Owls' baseball coach from 1947 to 1952. Head football coach at Ursinus eight years before joining Temple staff. Originally from Plymouth, PA, was an all-around athlete in high school and outstanding in football.
