Fifth highest scorer in Temple basketball history. Earned All-American honors in both basketball and baseball. Led the basketball team in scoring as a junior (19.5 average) and a senior (22.2), was second as a sophomore (13.5). Finished his basketball career with 1,468 points. Won the Robert V. Geasey trophy as the Big Five's outstanding player in 1960. Named to the All-Big Five team junior and senior seasons. Defensive standout as Temple's centerfielder, batted .414 in his junior season. Considered one of the greatest all-around athletes in Temple history. Starred in football and basketball at Philadelphia's Lincoln High School. Made the All-Public league first team in both sports at Lincoln High.
