One of the outstanding boxers in Temple's history. Won three Eastern Intercollegiate boxing championships. Captured the lightweight championship and 1938 and 1939 and the welterweight crown in 1940. Undefeated all three years in regular season competition. Participated in the 1939 National Intercollegiate championships, advancing to the semi-finals before losing a split decision. Became a professional boxer and had 13 bouts. Lost only by decision to Marty Servo who a few months later became world champion.
