A 1942 graduate and varsity swimmer during Temple's undefeated 1941 and 1942 seasons. Senior Middle Atlantic Champion in 100 yard and 100 meter backstroke events 1937-42. Set four national intercollegiate records while at Temple. 40-yard backstroke, 24.8, stood from 1942-73. 50-yard backstroke, 32.2, stood until 1962. 75-yard backstroke, 44.5, and 100-yard backstroke, 1:11.7, were also national marks set in 1942. Established new world record of 36.0 for 50 meter backstroke in Lancaster, PA., July 1941. Assistant men and women's swimming coach at Monmouth College 1965-present.
