He has been an important part of the Temple University soccer program both as a coach and player. He has been the Owls' head coach since 1974 and has produced a winning program. He has twice led Temple into the NCAA Tournament. The Owls captured four East Coast Conference championships under his direction and two Eastern College Athletic Conference titles. A first team All-American himself in 1966, he has coached four All-Americans at Temple. He also earned All-American honorable mention twice. He was the Middle Atlantic Conference's most valuable player in 1966 when he led the Owls into the NCAA Tournament. He made the Tri-State all star team three times and was twice named Temple's MVP. He was an assistant coach at Temple for seven years under Dr. William P. (Pete) Leaness and Walt Bahr before becoming head coach. He played professional soccer with several teams. A Philadelphia product, he made the All-Catholic and All-Scholastic teams for three years while starring for North Catholic High School. He is a teacher in the Philadelphia Public School System.
