Undefeated in four years of dual meet wrestling competition against outstanding opposition, he co-captained the Owls as a senior. He was one of the standouts as Temple was undefeated during the 1940-41 season, compiling an 8-0 record. Before coming to Temple he starred at Upper Darby High School and was the unbeaten district champion. He returned to Upper Darby High School as a head wrestling coach after his graduation from Temple and had a brilliant record from 1946 through 1965. He produced 12 District I championship teams, had 11 undefeated squads and coached six Pennsylvania high school state finalists. He was also head cross-country and assistant baseball coach there. Inducted into the Pennsylvania Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1977. He is assistant principal at Upper Darby High School.
