Varsity sports were offered only during Mullan's senior year (1937-38), but she participated for four years in archery, fencing, hockey, basketball, and gymnastics, all sponsored by the WAA. Was captain of Temple's swimming team 1937-38. Won the Philadelphia "Fancy Diving" title at age 10. Invited to the 1936 Olympic Diving Trials in Chicago. Helped to organize the Philadelphia Board of Women Officials, with fellow Hall of Fame member Prudence Fleming. Vice-President of Health and Physical Education Club, 1937-38. Director of the water-front at Camp Woodmere, Paradox, N.Y., 1943-63. Her swimming program developed there was a model for many to come. Member of one of the first groups to learn the Red Cross Swimming Program and Instructors' Course.
