Matt Mongiardini pitched 7.1 scoreless innings, scattering three hits, to propel Temple to a 1-0 win over Dayton on Saturday...He struck out four batters and walked just two...The right-hander did not allow a runner past second base and combined for Temple's first complete-game shutout since he threw all nine innings in a 7-0 win over Saint Louis on April 29, 2007...It was the first 1-0 win for the Owls since beating Xavier, 1-0, on May 20, 2004....He was also named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week.
