Sherryta Freeman is in her second year as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Temple. Freeman came to TU after serving as assistant athletic director of compliance at Dartmouth College for two years. Freeman oversees all aspects of the athletic department's compliance efforts for its 24 sports and over 500 student-athletes with conference and NCAA rules and regulations. She will work to educate coaches, administrators and student-athletes in regards to new rules and regulations, as well as assist with processing NCAA and conference waivers on behalf of student-athletes.
The Hillside, N.J. native joined the Dartmouth athletic staff in July 2003 as an assistant to intercollegiate programs with an emphasis on compliance and event management. She was elevated six months later to assistant athletic director.
Freeman earned a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Dartmouth in 2001, where she was a member of two women's basketball NCAA Tournament teams as a student-athlete. She earned her master's degree in sports management at the University of Massachusetts, completing her coursework in May, 2003.
