Kristen Foley oversees the administration of 12 sports, including budget construction, scheduling contests, student-athlete crisis intervention, and evaluation and review of coaches. In addition, she supervises the Academic Support and Compliance Units for student-athletes.
Foley presently serves as a member of the NCAA Women's Basketball Committee and three Atlantic 10 Committees: Executive, Softball and Volleyball, as well as chair of the NCAA Fencing Committee.
Appointed to her current position in 2000, Foley was head coach of the Temple women's basketball team from 1995-00. Prior to arriving at TU, she revived Drexel's women's basketball program, leading the Dragons to their first-ever berth in the North Atlantic Conference semifinal game.
Foley earned a bachelor's degree in physical education/sports communications (1986) and a master's degree in educational administration (1991) from Rutgers University, where she was a four-year letterwinner. She helped lead the Scarlet Knights to consecutive NCAA final eight appearances in 1986 and 1987, while being named to the NCAA East Regional all-tournament team in 1986.
