In Temple's 24-20 win at Akron, DiMichele led Temple to consecutive conference wins for the first time since 1967 and to its first road win since 2003 by throwing for three touchdowns in fourth quarter. Trailing 20-3 to start the final stanza, DiMichele marched the Owls down field. With just 27 seconds on the clock, the redshirt junior tossed a 19-yarder game-winning touchdown to Dy'Onne Crudup. DiMichele threw for 112 yards and ran for 37 in final quarter alone. He also had a career-best 62 yards rushing. On the day, DiMichele completed 23 of 34 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns. For his effort, the Owls' signal caller also earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
