CANDICE DUPREE NAMED NOVEMBER’S OWLSPORTS.COM ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

PHILADELPHIA- Senior All-America candidate Candice Dupree has been named the Owlsports.com Athlete of the Month for the month of November. Dupree led the Temple women’s basketball team to a 6-0 start, its best since the 1981-82 season when the Owls went 9-0.
Dupree averaged 17.7 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game to allow the #18/16 Owls to begin the season with an undefeated record and continue a 14 game home winning streak. The Tampa, Fla. native earned back to back double doubles against Oregon and Drexel, scoring 21 points in both contests, and netted in double figures in all six games in the month of November. She earned the Women’s Sports Foundation Tournament MVP honor after averaging 15.5 ppg and 12 rpg to lead Temple to wins over Michigan and Oregon and the Tournament title.
She ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring and rebounding, was first in defensive boards (8.17 drpg) and blocks (2.33 bpg) and tied for third place in field goal percentage (.571).
