Calling All Letter Winners!
Owl Club FAQ
What is the Owl Club?
The Owl Club is organized for the purposes of providing financial and community support for the whole Temple Athletic Department within the guidelines established by the NCAA and the University.
Where does the money go?
All dollars raised by the Owl Club will be used for Temple Athletics. The following are ways in which your financial support could be used:
- Academic Support Services
- Enhancing operating budgets for all sports
- Special projects like locker room enhancements, spring trips and obtaining the latest equipment for our student-athletes and coaches.
- Scholarships
No two people have the same reason for joining the Owl Club and supporting Temple Athletics. However, some of the reasons most expressed are:
- To belong to the Owl Club is an investment in the youth of America and supports one of Temple University's most visible endeavors.
- A strong, winning athletic program brings pride to everyone associated with Temple, builds school spirit and focuses national attention on Temple University, the 26th largest university in the country.
- It is fun to belong to the Owl Club, attend games and follow Temple's teams.
Temple has many wonderful stories to tell about the academic and athletic success of its letter winners. The opportunity to attend college, earn a college degree and play college sports is the dream of many young people. Providing these opportunities is expensive. Very few, if any, Division 1A athletic programs, are operated strictly on university money. Temple is no different. Therefore, private support is crucial if Temple is to develop and grow a successful athletic program and provide opportunities for young people to reach their dreams.
Winning is exciting and important to students, the community and our alumni and helps promote the school on a national level.
What does membership entail?
Membership is established during the fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) and members enjoy their benefits the following sport season.
While there is great satisfaction in supporting Temple Athletics, there are also tangible benefits that one can enjoy. Please consult your Owl Club brochure or the website to see the appropriate benefits for your level of giving. These could include things like VIP Parking, Hospitality, Preferred Seating or a Post Season Ticket Priority. If you have any questions about your benefits, or anything else connected with the Owl Club, do not hesitate to call Tom Crowley at 215 204 2585.
Does Temple accept matching gift funds and how do they affect my benefit level?
Temple does accept gifts from matching gift companies. (Be sure to investigate whether your company matches for athletic purposes. Many do not.) Simply include the form in with your gift. To encourage individuals to use their matching gift capability, your total gift will be considered for benefit purposes.
Example - Donor A works for a matching gift company. Her $500 gift to the Owl Club is matched at $500, making her a $1000 donor to the Owl Club. Benefits would be at the $1000 level.
How does preferred seating work?
Based on availability, Owl Club members can purchase the best seats in the Liacouras Center before the general public. Please see the chart for the different seating options.
Example - Donor A gives $1000 to the Owl Club and would like to buy 2 tickets. This donor could purchase:
up to 3 seats in the A level ($300/seat. 3 X $300= $900 minimum donation)
up to 5 seats in the B level ($200/seat. 5 X $200= $1000 minimum donation)
up to 10 seats in the C level ($100/seat. 10 X $100= $1000 minimum donation)
up to 20 seats in the D level ($50/seat. 20 X $50= $1000 minimum donation)
Most importantly, this donor will be stewarded at the $1000 (regardless of how many season tickets they have), with the appropriate benefits.
Where is VIP Parking for basketball games?
The 3rd level of the Liacouras Parking Garage, nearest the bridge into the Liacouras Center, will be reserved for Owl Club donors at the $1000 level and above. The price is set and passes distributed by Temple Parking Services.
What can I expect in the Owl Club Hospitality Room during basketball games?
The Owl Club Hospitality Room is for athletic donors starting at the $1500 level and above. For each season ticket purchased, a pass is given. The hospitality room is located under section 106. ENTER THROUGH SECTION 110.
The room will open 60 minutes before game time and remain open through halftime of the game. Refreshments will be served. At 30 minutes before tip-off, an assistant coach will give a scouting report.
How does the post-season ticket priority work?
Owl Club donors at the $1000 level and above will have first priority, based on availability, to post season tickets for Temple's teams before any other groups. Look for announcements at games, on our website and in the media for ticket purchase procedures.
